The Regional Support Worker Roadshow consists of two one day workshops.  The workshops are aimed at getting Support Workers up to speed with the essential elements of 
Self-Directed   Support and Person Centred Practice.  This    training is ideal for Support Workers who are  employed by the person and/or their family or employed by 
an organisation.  This would suit champion Support Workers who can share their learning with colleagues.

Workshop 1—The fundamentals of self direction and   person centred practice
Understanding the National Disability Insurance Scheme
Person centred values and approaches
Supported Decision Making

Workshop 2—Peoples lives and people outcomes
Understanding Outcomes and why they matter
Supporting people to lead full lives, not just supplying support
Critical thinking skills

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS:
Erin Fulton has worked for over 10 years in the equality and diversity arena within the UK and during that time has had the privilege of working with some inspirin
g individuals who were adamant that their voices should and would be heard.  Erin has been working to support organisations to work in partnership with people and 
families in policy and practice development. Most recently Erin has been working with individuals to explore appropriate safeguarding strategies for them to ensure 
that they can live the life that they choose whilst maximising their opportunities and safety and the safety of others.  

Charlotte Van der Burgt has worked in the disability sector for over 16 years commencing as a support worker herself,continuing onto senior management roles within 
the sector and holds the positon of Individualised Services Advisor with WAiS.  Charlotte has connected with people and families in many      
regional areas of WA through her various work roles and is   loving the opportunity to reconnect with regional areas again.
